Hijinks Ensue creator signing – October 24th

Rogues Gallery is proud to welcome Joel Watson, the creator of Hijinks Ensue, for a signing at the store on Saturday, October 24th from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.

Watson will have his first book, “Godspeed You Fancy Bastard” on sale at the signing, as well as buttons and prints. He will also be artist-in-residence for the superhero-themed improv show Ka-Baam! on Friday and Saturday of that weekend.

Island of Doctor Necreaux Game Demo – October 17th

Game designer Jonathan Leistiko will be hosting a demo of The Island of Doctor Necreaux, a cooperative card game for 1-5 players.

Players are part of an elite rescue-and-recovery espionage team in the world of the future. Porter (World of Cars) and Paul Benjamin (Monsters, Inc.) will be at the store to sign their books and chat with fans, and we’ll have copies of the first Cars trade, all the issues of the previous and current Cars miniseries, the new Monsters Inc. series as well as other work by these two authors.

Castle Panic Demo on October 3rd

Rogues Gallery will be hosting a demo of Castle Panic, a cooperative strategy game for 1 to 6 players ages 10 and up, which will be hitting the store for sale in the last week of September. Though it is getting national distribution, Castle Panic is the first game from a new local game company, Fireside Games. Some of the staff have already played the game, and found it to be a lot of fun in the vein of Pandemic or Shadows Over Camelot. The demo will be on Saturday, October 3rd from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.

The basics are: Players must work together to defend their castle, in the center of the board, from monsters that attack out of the forest, at the edges of the board. Players trade cards, hit and slay monsters, and plan strategies together to keep their castle towers intact. The players either win or lose together, but only the player with the most victory points is declared the Master Slayer.

Players must balance the survival of the group with their own desire to win.

Chaos in the Old World

In this game of elemental connections, players seek to combine cards to complete their secret goal. But, watch out – you may get zapped! Aquarius features three types of cards: Elements, Goals, and Actions. Element cards are played like dominoes, with each player trying to win by connecting seven panels of one particular element. Goal cards determine which element each player is going after, and Action cards allow players to shake up the action in five different ways.

In this two-player game, each player runs a chain of fast-food joints: one specializes in burgers and the other in pizzas. As each expands, he takes on some of the menu items of the other in order to compete for customers. The most successful chain will win in the end!

In this game of world exploration and empire building, players represent European empires seeking to colonize the Mediterranean and devise trade routes to ship their wares to all parts of the world in their quest to increase their empire’s glory and status in Industry, Culture, Finance, and Politics.

Order Up!
In this fun and taste-tempting pizza delivery game, players gather toppings from their regional pizzeria then attempt to fill orders by visiting various addresses around the community board. Players fill orders by discarding the appropriate toppings cards required on the pizza requested for the at the specific location, with a monetary value placed for each successful delivery. When the pizzerias close, the player with the most money wins!
