Deadlands Noir Deal!

Deadlands Noir DealWe backed the Deadlands Noir Kickstarter, and as a result we’re offering a limited special deal on the product, which takes the popular Weird West setting and updates it to Prohibition-era New Orleans.

Deadlands Noir is a pen-and-paper roleplaying game set in the world of Pinnacle Entertainment’s award-winning Deadlands universe. It includes new Edges, Hindrances, and powers, as well as new rules for handling detective work, the state of the Union and the CSA in the Depression-era, a complete Plot Point campaign, and of course, more monsters and ghouls than you can shake a smoking .45 automatic at.

For $100, you get a copy of Savage Worlds Deluxe, Deadlands Noir, the Deadlands Weird West Marshal’s Handbook, Deadlands Weird West Player’s Guide, Deadlands Coffin Rock adventure, Deadlands Noir New Orleans map and an Action Adventure Deck, plus digital copies of Deadlands Noir, the Deadlands Noir Companion, Deadlands Noir Figure Flats, Deadlands Noir Old Absinthe House Blues adventure and the Deadlands Noir retailer pack, which features a number of character archetypes and a short adventure. Give the clerk your email when you buy the bundle and we’ll get you a link for the digital copies.

While we have plenty of copies of Deadlands Noir and the New Orleans Map, we only have two copies of this deal available before we’re all out.

Magic The Gathering Theros Pre-Release on Sunday, September 22nd!

FIRST ROUND BEGINS AT NOON – SECOND ROUND BEGINS AT 3:30 – PRE-REGISTRATION STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

Rogues Gallery will be holding two pre-release events for Magic: The Gathering’s newest set, Theros, on Sunday, September 22nd! We recommend that you call or email ahead to pre-register, because we have limited space and tend to fill up well before the day of the event itself. We have room for 16 players in the first event, beginning at noon, and 16 players in the second event, beginning at 3:30 PM. If space allows, we are happy to allow players to play in both pre-release tournaments… players will have to buy-in to both tournaments, you cannot carry over cards or decks from the first pre-release into the second. In addition, of late we’ve had folks sign up and not show up, so if you don’t get in on your preferred time, you are welcome to sign up as an alternate or to come in on the day and try to get available spaces.

Registration will begin at noon on September 22nd. We’ll begin the first event at 12:30 with 30 minutes to construct your decks, and the pre-release will run 3 rounds from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (at the latest). Please note that if you are pre-registered, you must arrive by 12:15 to claim your spot or it will be opened up for walk-ins.

The second tournament will begin registration at 3:30, and the tournament will start as close to 4 PM as we can manage, with 30 minutes to construct your decks. Please note for those pre-registered, you must arrive by 3:45 to claim your spot or it will be opened up for walk-ins.

We will allow walk-ins for both tournaments if the space is not filled, but we encourage pre-registration, as we generally fill up fairly quickly. In addition, because there are two events, and because the second event may run later than our usual closing time, we won’t be able to offer trading or casual place space after the tournaments end.

Players will choose their heroic path based on a favorite mana color and buy a Seeded Prerelease Pack containing spindown life counter, a Hero Card unique to a players’ chosen path, one of five quiz activity cards, five Theros boosters, and a seeded booster featuring cards appropriate for that player’s chosen path including one of the five Prerelease promo cards. The price will be $25 (plus tax).

Prize support will be in the form of Theros boosters.

In addition to the main Prerelease Tournament events, if space allows, we will offer Open Dueling, allowing any player who wants to play to purchase 1 Magic Theros Intro Pack to play against each other, as well as Prerelease tournament players who are between matches.

Theros also introduces a new concept, The Hero’s Path, to Magic The Gathering. A series of three Hero cards will be given out at the Prerelease, Launch Weekend Friday Night Magic and the Theros Game Day. More information will be provided at the Prerelease when we have more details to give.

Friday Night Magic for May 2013

Our Friday Night Magic events are sometimes full, we have capacity for 16 people, so we recommend calling ahead to reserve your spot. You can call anytime on Friday, and you must arrive by 6:45 to claim your spot or we will give it away to walk-ins or alternate sign-ups. Of late, we’ve had plenty of room for walk-ins, but calling ahead is the only way to ensure yourself a spot.

Rogues Gallery offers Friday Night Magic every Friday night! Games run from 7-10 PM, and the format alternates between Modern and Standard. Standard format decks can have cards from Innistrad, Dark Ascension, Avacyn Restored, Magic 2013, Return to Ravnica and Gatecrash. Modern format is more involved, and the rules for building those decks can be found here: http://www.wizards.com/magic/tcg/resources.aspx?x=judge/resources/sfrmodern

For May, Modern format events will be the 10th and 24th and Standard format events will be the 3rd, 17th and 31st. The prize card for this month is Judge’s Familiar.

Our Friday Night Magic events occasionally get full, so if you want to guarantee a spot, call head to reserve a spot anytime on Friday, and arrive by 6:45 to claim your spot or we will give it away to walk-ins or alternate sign-ups. We have an entry fee of $5 to play, which provides for prize support. Each player’s fee contributes one booster to the prize pool, and those boosters will be divided between first, second and third place and a fourth random player. In addition, as long as we have them, we’ll continue to give out random, prize cards from our overflowing box of promotional cards, which includes past Friday Night Magic, Game Days, Prereleases and other cards.
