We meet at Palermo Pasta House in Round Rock. Meetings are on Wednesdays, and the fun kicks off at 7 and goes until around 9. We talk about all things geeky, from comics to games to movies. As adult content will most likely be discussed and as there will be alcohol present, we are making this an 18 and up event. Moms! You are welcome to bring your daughters! 15-17 is the preferred age group on that.
I would also like to add that we do not discriminate here at Rogues Gallery. If you identify as female in any way you are most welcome at our table.
Food. Booze. Good company. What more could you ask for?

Magic the Gathering Prerelease on Sunday, January 17th!
FIRST ROUND BEGINS AT NOON – SECOND ROUND BEGINS AT 4:00 – PRE-REGISTRATION STRONGLY RECOMMENDED
Rogues Gallery will be holding two prerelease events for Magic: The Gathering’s new set, Oath of the Gatewatch, on Sunday, January 17th! We recommend that you call or email ahead to preregister, because we have limited space and tend to fill up well before the day of the event itself. We have room for 16 players in the first event, beginning at noon, and 16 players in the second event, beginning at 4:00 PM. If space allows, we are happy to allow players to play in both prerelease tournaments… players will have to buy-in to both tournaments, you cannot carry over cards or decks from the first prerelease into the second. In addition, of late we’ve had folks sign up and not show up, so if you don’t get in on your preferred time, you are welcome to sign up as an alternate or to come in on the day and try to get available spaces.
Registration will begin at noon on January 17th. We’ll begin the first event at 12:30 with 30 minutes to construct your decks, and the pre-release will run 3 rounds from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM or so. Please note that if you are preregistered, you must arrive by 12:15 to claim your spot or it will be opened up for walk-ins.
The second tournament will begin registration at 4:00, and the tournament will start as close to 4 PM as we can manage, with 30 minutes to construct your decks. Please note for those preregistered, you must arrive by 4:00 to claim your spot or it will be opened up for walk-ins.
Prerelease packs will be $25.99 plus tax. You must buy a pack for each tournament you enter, and we will reserve color of pack on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We will allow walk-ins for both tournaments if the space is not filled, but we encourage preregistration, as we generally fill up fairly quickly. In addition, because there are two events, and because the second event may run later than our usual closing time, we won’t be able to offer trading or casual place space after the tournaments end.
Prize support will be in the form of Oath of the Gatewatch boosters. We award boosters for each round you win. The remainder are divided up into first, second and third prizes.
In addition to the main prerelease tournament events, if space allows, we will offer open dueling, allowing any player who wants to play to purchase Oath of the Gatewatch Intro Packs to play against each other, as well as prerelease tournament players who are between matches.
Black Friday Sale & Thanksgiving Hours
Our seventh annual Black Friday sale is coming on Friday, November 28th. Come kick off your holiday shopping and earn bonus gift certificates!
From the time we open (10 AM) until the time we close (10 PM) on Friday, November 27th, any purchase you make will also earn you bonus holiday gift certificates. For every $25 you spend, you’ll get $5 on a gift certificate, and you can break those up into individual $5 gift certificates, one big gift certificate with the whole amount or any other combination you choose. So for example, if you spend $100, you’ll get $20 in our special holiday gift certificates.
For the first time this year, Rogue Card members will get a special bonus! If you show your Rogue Card, you will get $5 on gift certificates for every $20 you spend! And yes, you can buy a Rogue membership on Black Friday, although the $35 membership fee won’t count toward your total for gift certificates (that’s just not fair to everyone who bought them on other days).
So come on in and get a little extra bang for your holiday-shopping buck. Or pick up something for yourself and get some bonus money to give away as gifts. But make sure and stop in for this one-day event!
Boring Rules Stuff:
Just like our regular gift certificates, these have no expiration date, and can be used for anything in the store. We’ll be using these throughout the holiday season. They cannot be used on the day of purchase, but can be used as early as Saturday, November 29th.
The amount used to calculate bonus gift certificates is the pre-tax value of merchandise (within reason – a $24.99 or $24.95 item will get you the $5 gift certificate). $5 is given for each full $25, not a fraction thereof.
We will be closed on Thursday, November 26th for Thanksgiving. There are no comic shipping delays related to Thanksgiving.
Local Comic Shop Day on Saturday, November 28th!
Local Comic Shop Day is a new event designed to call attention to locally owned independent comic book specialty stores. The first Local Comic Shop Day will be Saturday, November 28, coinciding with American Express’s Small Business Saturday.

Epic Card Game Demo/Tournament on Saturday, November 21st!
We’ll be doing a demo of the new card game, Epic, from the creators of Star Realms, on Saturday, November 21st from 1:30 – 5:30!
We have room for up to 16 players! This is a demo/tournament for brand new players, so if you have any interest, come on and check it out, it will be new player friendly and we’ll have a couple of folks on hand who have played before who will help serve as judge and guide for the game!
The cost to enter the tournament is $5 (plus tax), but that will get you your own Epic starter deck at the end of the tournament, plus bonus cards for all participants and even more bonus cards for the tournament winners!
The event will be 3 rounds, and in each round, players will play a one-game match against a single opponent. At the end of the game, each player will keep their own 30 card deck and promo cards!
Come on out and try this fun game that is a mix of Magic the Gathering and Star Realms! Like the latter, it’s a complete game, not a CCG, and the base game (also available at Rogues Gallery) allows up to 2-4 players out of the box!
Snow Tails Demo on Sunday, November 15th
We’ll be hosting a demo for Snow Tails on Sunday, November 15th from 2 PM – 5 PM!
Snow Tails is set in the snowy world of the Arctic Circle, where brave sledders compete in a test of skill and endurance. Action is fast and furious and not all sleds may make it to the finish. Huskies only have one setting and that is full speed! Hang on to your furs, the reins, your sled, and anything else you can get hold of!
So come on out and give it a try!
Gaming with Rogues – November – Guillotine and more!
With November bringing holiday schedules, Rogues Gallery will be doing something a little different with our casual gaming night. We’ll be hosting the game at the store on a Saturday night, November 14th, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
This month’s game is on Guillotine. The game is set during the French Revolution, and he goal is to collect the heads of Nobles, accumulating points. In addition, folks are welcome to play other games from our boardgame and card game library on this game night!

Rogues Gallery will have a booth at Wizard World Austin for the first time in 2015! Come on down and see us on Friday, October 30th or Saturday, October 31st!

All New All Different Marvel Coming in October!
We’ve been talking about it on the podcast for a couple months now, but we’re closing in on the All New, All Different Marvel! What does that mean? It means Marvel is launching all of its comics out of Secret Wars with a brand new #1! This is not a reboot, it’s a continuation of the pre-Secret Wars continuity, with a few tweaks and changes in the mix. Some of the creative teams (Ms. Marvel, Thor, Squirrel Girl, Howard the Duck, etc.) are the same, some are completely new and different!
To make it easy for folks to scout out the first issues they want, one of our customers has created a PDF checklist with the creative teams listed for the first batch of Marvel #1s. If you’re interested in any of these, simply download the PDF, fill it out and bring it to the store and we’ll set it up as a subscription add-on or a special order for you!
