Rogues Gallery has a limited amount of comic grab bags available now, while supplies last! They’re $5 for a blind bag of 10 comics, hand-selected by management, featuring no duplicates, and separated out by Marvel, DC, Independent and Image Comics. Selections are from the last 5-7 years of comics, and there’s a bunch of good stuff in there! Get ’em while they last, we’ll have them until we clear out the overstock and then it’ll probably be a couple years before we do it again!
Harbinger Renegades Subscription Contest
Rogues Gallery is participating in the Harbinger Renegades Subscription Contest! Halloween Comic Fest on Saturday, October 29th!
Rogues Gallery will be participating in Halloween Comic Fest again this year, giving out free comics and encouraging kids and adults alike to come to the store in their costumes! We’ll have free comics to give out not only from this year’s selections, but a handful of offerings from the last couple years if you’ve missed previous Halloween Comic Fests. Offerings include Afterlife with Archie, Harrow County, Haunted Mansion, My Little Pony and more!

Gaming with Rogues – Horror Games in October
On the third Saturday of every month, Rogues Gallery will host a casual gaming night – each month will focus on a different game. The game night will begin at 6:30 PM and run until 9:00 PM, when the store closes.
This month’s game is on October 15th, and for Halloween, we’re going to do something a little different. The official game (the one Rogue members get a discount on) is Dead of Winter. Dead of Winter puts 2-5 players together in a small, weakened colony of survivors in a world where most of humanity are either dead or diseased, flesh-craving monsters. Each player leads a faction of survivors with dozens of different characters in the game. It’s cooperative, but everyone has their own agenda, and someone might secretly be the traitor.
We’ll offer up Dead of Winter for up to five players who either have experience with the game or have never played it before, but we’ll also have the new version, Dead of Winter: The Long Night if we have enough experienced Dead of Winter players to try out the more complex new expansion, and we’ll have a selection of other games to play, including Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu and Cthulhu Fluxx!
So whether you’ve played Dead of Winter before or just want to try it out, or you want to try out the new Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu or another game, come join us for Gaming with Rogues! Magic the Gathering Prerelease on Sunday, September 25th!
FIRST ROUND BEGINS AT NOON – SECOND ROUND BEGINS AT 4:00 – PRE-REGISTRATION STRONGLY RECOMMENDED
Rogues Gallery will be holding two prerelease events for Magic: The Gathering’s new set, Kaladesh, on Sunday, September 25th! We recommend that you call or email ahead to preregister, because we have limited space and tend to fill up well before the day of the event itself. We have room for 16 players in the first event, beginning at noon, and 16 players in the second event, beginning at 4:00 PM. If space allows, we are happy to allow players to play in both prerelease tournaments… players will have to buy-in to both tournaments, you cannot carry over cards or decks from the first prerelease into the second. In addition, of late we’ve had folks sign up and not show up, so if you don’t get in on your preferred time, you are welcome to sign up as an alternate or to come in on the day and try to get available spaces.
Registration will begin at noon on September 25th. We’ll begin the first event at 12:30 with 30 minutes to construct your decks, and the pre-release will run 3 rounds from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM or so. Please note that if you are preregistered, you must arrive by 12:15 to claim your spot or it will be opened up for walk-ins.
The second tournament will begin registration at 4:00, and the tournament will start as close to 4 PM as we can manage, with 30 minutes to construct your decks. Please note for those preregistered, you must arrive by 4:00 to claim your spot or it will be opened up for walk-ins.
Prerelease packs will be $25.99 plus tax. You must buy a pack for each tournament you enter.
We will allow walk-ins for both tournaments if the space is not filled, but we encourage preregistration, as we generally fill up fairly quickly. In addition, because there are two events, and because the second event may run later than our usual closing time, we won’t be able to offer trading or casual place space after the tournaments end.
Prize support will be in the form of Kaladesh boosters. We award boosters for each round you win. The remainder are divided up into first, second and third prizes.
In addition to the main prerelease tournament events, if space allows, we will offer open dueling, allowing any player who wants to play to purchase Kaladesh Intro Packs to play against each other, as well as prerelease tournament players who are between matches.
Reading with Rogues – October
Our bimonthly graphic novel club will meet in October to talk about Batman and horror comics, epitomized by our two selections, Batman The Long Halloween (in September) and Harrow County Volume 1 (in October).Every second Tuesday of alternate months, we’ll hold our graphic novel reading club! The next meeting is on Tuesday, October 11th, starting at 6:30 PM and running until we run out of stuff to talk about (or 9 PM, when the store closes). Folks can come and go as they please, and we should have plenty of room.
We’ll talk about our graphic novel selections for the past two months, as well as whatever other comics and related pop culture we deviate into! Got a favorite graphic novel you’ve read and want to talk about? Bring it with you!
The managers of Rogues Gallery will be on hand to talk about comics and hopefully get everybody chatting… we’re hoping to extend the vibe of our New Comics Wednesdays to everyone who maybe doesn’t get a chance to talk comics with their regular group of friends, or just can’t get enough comics talk.

We’d love for folks to RSVP on the Facebook event page just so we can have a rough headcount, but walk-ins are absolutely welcome. And while we’ll focus the discussions around the graphic novel of the month, we’ll almost certainly be talking about other comics and graphic novels.

They’re here! Pokemon Gym Badge pins for Rogues Gallery! If you’re a Pokemon fan, they symbolize training at our Pokegym in Pokemon Go. If you’re not a Pokemon fan, they’re cool pins featuring a stylized version of our store mascot, Maximillian Larch, and they have Rogues Gallery emblazoned across the back. $8 each, or $7 if you have a Pokemon occupying the gym!
We’re all Team Mystic, but don’t worry, we still love you even if you’re Team Valor, Team Instinct or even Team Unity, and you still get credit for having a Pokemon in the gym, even if you’ve conquered us or our Mystic teammates!

Batman Day is Saturday, September 17th
The fan-favorite event celebrating The Dark Knight, “Batman Day” will take place on Saturday, September 17th.
Batman Day is an annual event celebrating all things Batman from comics to video games and more.
While supplies last, every attendee will receive a free copy of Batman #1, featuring a Batman Day variant cover by Howard Porter. This issue will reprint the acclaimed story written by Tom King with art by David Finch and Matt Banning!
We’ll have Batman and Catwoman in attendance for the day!
In addition, artist Devin Kraft will be there for quick Batman sketches, and we’ll have a 15% off on all Batman graphic novels and merchandise that day! More details to come soon!
Gaming with Rogues – Smash Up in September
On the third Saturday of every month, Rogues Gallery will host a casual gaming night – each month will focus on a different game. The game night will begin at 6:30 PM and run until 9:00 PM, when the store closes.
This month’s game is on September 17th, and the game is Smash-Up! In Smash Up players take two factions, such as pirates, ninja, robots, zombies, and more, and combine their decks into a force to be reckoned with! When the game begins, players take turns drafting one of several faction decks. Once each player has two decks, they shuffle them together, combining their distinct abilities into a unique 40-card deck. Players then deal out a number of Base cards, and play their decks to attempt to have the most power on a base when it is scored.
So whether you’ve played Smash-Up before or just want to try it out, come join us for Gaming with Rogues! And don’t forget that with your Rogue Card, you can get 10% off on Pandemic from now until the next Gaming with Rogues selection is chosen!

Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game – Saturday, September 10th

ant to come out and play some Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game? We’ll be having open space for X-Wing games on the second Saturday of the month from now on, so our next game is Saturday, September 10th, from 5:30 – 9:00 PM!
Players should bring forces of about 100 points., but they are welcome to bring up to 300 points in case there’s interest in playing a bigger game.
Come out and bring your minis, and if you want to try out the game, we’re sure the players will be happy to teach new players!
