As always, Rogues Gallery will be closing early at 7 PM on New Year’s Eve. But we will also have some new comics that day, including Marvel’s SHIELD #1! Mark Waid (Daredevil, Indestructible Hulk) will write the series, which will feature a series of artists, starting with Carlos Pacheco and including Alan Davis and Chris Sprouse. The comic will introduce the characters from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show into the Marvel Universe in a series of done-in-one stories.
To celebrate, we’re having a SHIELD #1 launch party all day on December 31st, from 10 AM to 7 PM! There will be a variety of variant covers for sale, including another new Skottie Young variant, as well as free lithographs for those who pick up the first issue (one per customer, while supplies last). Come in a Marvel or SHIELD costume and get 15% off on anything you buy in the store during the launch party! Peruse the awesome SHIELD by Jim Steranko Artist Edition, which we’ll have in store for (careful) browsing! At least two of the staff promise to be caught up on the TV show for discussions and enthusing, for those who are so inclined.
We’ll also be offering a demo of Marvel’s Legendary card game, where you play
SHIELD recruiters trying to put together hero teams to stop villainous plots, throughout the day.
