Game Space: Rules & Reservations

We have two standing game tables available for free play, as long as they aren’t reserved for other use.

Standard reserved times include Monday night from 6 PM – 9 PM (Heroclix), Thursday night from 6 PM – 9 PM (D&D Adventurers League), Friday night from 6 PM – 10 PM (Magic The Gathering) and one Saturday a month from 6 PM – 9 PM (Gaming with Rogues).

Game Table Reservations:

The tables are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, you can also reserve the tables for a 3 hour window, and we can have a standing reservation if someone wants to run a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly game.

Standard slots are 11 AM – 1 PM, 1 PM – 4 PM, and 4 PM – 7 PM. If you’re running a longer game, you can sign up for two consecutive slots, and any of these can extend another 2 hours, provided there isn’t someone signed up to use the table after that.

If you have a Rogue membership, you can reserve up to three slots free per week. Also, any time you purchase a game from us, you can ask to have a slot reserved to play that game (or any other game you have) anytime in the next two weeks (14 days).

We will also provide free game space for anyone wishing to demo or playtest their game for our players, provided the demo is open to all customers.

Otherwise, we will ask for $10 to reserve a table for a 2-6 hour slot.

We ask that those with a reserved game slot arrive within 15 minutes of the start time, or we reserve the right to offer the space to someone else.

Organized Play:

We support organized play for Heroclix, Dungeons & Dragons and Magic the Gathering at present, plus boardgames under the Asmoplay program.

We are happy to support more organized play if there is an interest, and can order organized play kits if you have a group that is interested in purchasing them for use at the store. If we can get a big enough group for organized play, Rogues Gallery will provide organized play kits and prizes, although we will at that point ask that anyone be allowed to play in tournaments.

In-Store Gaming Rules:

1. We’re a family store – please keep cursing/swearing to a minimum – even if a red dragon just ate your favorite character.

2. Keep other shoppers in mind when you’re playing – We want you to enjoy yourself, but make sure and keep shopping aisles clear and keep the noise level reasonable.

3. Food is allowed (within reason), we just ask you to be careful not to spill on the product, tables, other gamers, etc.

4.We expect everyone to be a courteous winner and a gracious loser, especially if you’re playing with strangers. A little friendly banter is fine, but smack talk and whining will not be tolerated.

5. Showing up a little early is encouraged. It’s important that our staff is able to close up on time and get home, so we try not to run gaming late if possible.

6. Clean up after yourself. Trash cans are in the bathroom and up at the counter.

Staffers’ and DMs’ decisions are final.  If you have an issue, feel free to email or call the management, but arguing with the staff or DM at the time is not acceptable.

Breaking these rules can result in a warning, a temporary suspension of table privileges, or a ban on future use of game tables, at the discretion of management.

P.S. We’d like to ask that folks not use the tables for sitting and reading, to keep them available for use in playing board, card, and role-playing games.

Gaming with Rogues – Hero Realms

On the third Saturday of every month, Rogues Gallery will host a casual gaming night – each month will focus on a different game. The game night will begin at 6:30 PM and run until 9:00 PM, when the store closes.

This month’s game is on August 19th, and we’ll be hosting Hero Realms!

Hero Realms is a fantasy-themed deck-building game that is an adaptation of the award-winning Star Realms game. The game includes basic rules for two-player games, along with rules for multiplayer formats such as Free-For-All, Hunter, and Hydra.

Each player starts the game with a ten-card personal deck containing gold (for buying) and weapons (for combat). You start each turn with a new hand of five cards from your personal deck. When your deck runs out of cards, you shuffle your discard pile into your new deck. An 80-card Market deck is shared by all players, with five cards being revealed from that deck to create the Market Row. As you play, you use gold to buy champion cards and action cards from the Market. These champions and actions can generate large amounts of gold, combat, or other powerful effects. You use combat to attack your opponent and their champions. When you reduce your opponent’s score (called health) to zero, you win!

So whether you’ve played Hero Realms before or just want to try it out, come join us for Gaming with Rogues! And don’t forget that with your Rogue Card, you can get 10% off on Hero Realms or any of its expansions from now until the end of August!

Also, Gaming with Rogues is an open game night, so folks are welcome to play any game in our well-stocked boardgame and card game library or bring a favorite game of their own!

Boardgame Nights on Tuesdays!

In response to popular demand, we’re starting up a regular boardgame and cardgame night on Tuesdays! The tables are always open, of course, but for this specific night we figure people should start showing up around 6 PM, and we’ll be open until 9 PM so y’all can play games!

Bring your own, or feel free to sample our well-stocked game library!

Round Up For Charity!

As of August, Rogues Gallery Comics & Games will be offering a new charitable donation system for our customers. If you’d like, you can “round up” your purchase to the nearest dollar amount, and at the end of the month, we’ll collect all the rounded-up amounts and send a check to that month’s charity.

We’ll also be matching the first $100 of donations each month.

This can be done with cash or card, and it’s as easy as asking the person ringing you up to round up your transaction. Our charity of the month for August is the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the First Amendment rights of the comics medium.

10th Anniversary/Grand Re-Opening Party in August!

It’s been 10 years (and change) since Rogues Gallery Comics & Games opened, and coincidentally, we also just made our big move, so we’re having a grand re-opening party and 10th anniversary celebration on the same day!

On Saturday, August 12th, we’ll be celebrating with an all-day party for kids, adults, and everybody in between! All day long, we’ll have 15% off on everything in the store, and we’ll be running events during the day as well!

Early on, we’ll have custom kids activity books with comic-related word searches and crossword puzzles, and we’ll be running demos of the kid-friendly Kaiju dice game King of Tokyo. Midday, we’ll offer a playtest/demo of upcoming card game Die in Space and an RPG to be determined (we’re working on a few things, we’ll see what materializes).

And then, from 6-8 PM, it’s the return of comic book trivia! Done pub style, participants will be in teams of four, and we’ll have several categories and questions designed by the Rogues! Expect a lot of DC/Marvel superheroes, but y’all might want to make sure you’ve got some folks versed in indie comics as well. You can sign up ahead of time by sending an email to (either as a team, a partial team, or on your own, and we’ll put you into full teams on the day) or you can just show up by 5:45 PM to participate! We’ll have prizes, including the always-coveted Comics Trivia Champion trophy.

Rogues Gallery Ladies Night: The Return!

LADIES! Do you like comics? Do you like games? Do you just enjoy getting your geek on? Are you looking to make some awesome new friends? Then join us for LADIES NIGHT, hosted by our lady staff, on Saturday, July 19th, starting at 8 PM and continuing after the store closes!

For our first Ladies Night in the new space, I thought we could do a movie night! It’ll be sleepover themed, so wear your cutest pjs. Please also feel free to bring stuffed animals, pillows, and blankets. I’m hoping to do 10 Things I Hate About You, but we’ll have to see what’s still on Netflix by then. Worse case scenario, we can rent it from Amazon or something. I’m gonna make popcorn, but you can totally bring snacks if you want to.

This one is also gonna be Adults Only. Moms, if you think your teenage girls would enjoy this event, feel free to bring them along. Just keep in mind that adult language will probably be used, and adult themes are likely to be discussed.

I would also like to add that we do not discriminate here at Rogues Gallery. If you identify as female you are most welcome.

Food. Movie. Good company. What more could you ask for?

As always, pretty please RSVP on the Facebook event, just so I can get a rough headcount.

Hope to see you there! 🙂

Let’s do 16+ for this one.
